About Tyson Fury


Tyson Fury, also known as the “Gypsy King”, was born in Wythenshawe, England. He is from a long line of bare-knuckled boxers with ten generations of boxers coming before him. His family is descended from the Irish Travelers, who were a band of gypsies that traveled around England.

Fury tested positive for cocaine twice in 2016 and he tested positive for nandrolone in 2015 which led to his 2-year absence in the sport. Deontay Wilder was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and he turned pro at the age of 23 after he won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Wilder quickly showed his abilities in the pro ring and won his first title in 2012. In 2015 Wilder was given a shot to take on the world champion and try to win the title. He easily defeated Bermane Stiverne and has gone on to defend his title 7 times in a row since then.


Wilder is known for having one of the hardest punches in boxing having knocked 98% of the opponents in the ring with 19 of his knockouts coming in the first round. It will be interesting to see if Fury can handle the pure strength and power of Wilder’s punches.
